Growing up in Yellow Springs, Ohio, in 1959, Cindy was exposed to a diverse range of music genres, including funk, jazz, classical, and rock ‘n roll.

Her passion for drumming led her to study at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Although she eventually dropped out to join the beloved doo-wop group The Drifters, it provided her with valuable experience and stability.
In 1993, Cindy’s career took a major leap when she received a call from Lenny Kravitz, inviting her to audition for his music video “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”
This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey as she became his touring drummer for nearly two decades.
Her performances with Kravitz were captured in the concert documentary “Alive from Planet Earth,” filmed live in Australia.
During a music festival in Germany in 2005, Cindy crossed paths with Carlos Santana while performing with Kravitz. Little did she know that this chance encounters would change her life forever.
Five years later, Carlos reached out to her to sub as his drummer, and their musical connection quickly blossomed into something more.
He proposed to her on stage during a concert in Chicago in 2010, and the couple has been inseparable ever since.
For Cindy, being able to share her passion for music with Carlos is a dream come true. Music, she believes, is the highest form of communication, transcending any barriers of race, politics, or culture.
