Throughout the series, Knuckles and Wade encounter obstacles thrown their way by The Buyer and G.U.N. agents Mason and Willoughby.

These villains are after Knuckles’ energy to make themselves stronger, posing a threat to our heroes and their loved ones.

As Knuckles and Wade make their way to the Bowling Tournament of Champions in Reno, they also navigate Wade’s reunion with his estranged father, Pete Whipple.

However, this reunion takes a dark turn when Pete betrays his own family to gain favor with Mason and Willoughby.

Ultimately, Wade must make a difficult decision to save his family. He not only gives up his chance at winning the bowling championship but also has to part ways with Knuckles, his loyal friend.

It’s a heartbreaking moment, but one that shows the power of love and sacrifice.

In the end, Wade chooses to do what’s right, proving that true heroes are defined by their actions, not their victories in the bowling alley.

In episode 6 of Knuckles, at first, it looks like Wade Whipple has handed over the Echidna to the ex-agents of G.U.N. But actually, it’s a big trick!

Wade tips off Knuckles about the danger, saving him from being trapped by Mason and Willoughby. While Knuckles tackles Mason and Willoughby, Wade rescues his mom and sis.

Willoughby tries to trap Knuckles with portal rings, but Knuckles turns the tables, sending them to an unknown place.

With them gone, Wade goes to confront his deceitful dad. Knuckles tries to chill, but suddenly The Buyer shows up in Reno, wearing a giant metal suit powered by Knuckles’ spines!

The suit drains Knuckles’ strength, leaving him weak. Wade beats Pete and hurries to help Knuckles.

Knuckles, the wild adventure where ordinary Wade faces off against The Buyer, seems like a mismatch from the start.

But with a little help from Wanda and Wendy and some nifty power gloves, things take a turn.

Just when The Buyer is about to zap Wade, Knuckles steps in, fists ablaze with the Flames of Disaster, and takes down the villain.

But that’s not all. After the showdown, they dash back to the bowling arena, only to catch Pete trying to nick the trophy.

With some swift justice, Wade snags the title of “bowling champion,” ending the series with a freeze-frame moment.

And yes, there’s a mid-credits scene, just Wade and Knuckles cruising into the sunset with some tunes.

Now, onto the big question: how does Knuckles tie into Sonic 3? Honestly, not much. Mason, Willoughby, The Buyer, and even the Whipples are unlikely to resurface.

The miniseries is like an optional side quest, easy to skip without missing the main Sonic storyline.

So, in this show, the themes and character stuff are kinda shaky. Knuckles figures out how to make friends hanging out with the Whipples. That might help him trust Sonic and Tails even more.

And hey, if Knuckles is getting all peaceful, maybe he’ll rub off on Shadow the Hedgehog, making him less of a bad guy and more of a hero.

Wade Whipple learns a lesson too: don’t always meet your heroes, and listen to your mom when she says not to find your dad you’ve never met.

But hey, I doubt any of this will really matter in Sonic 3. That’s all there is to it. If you’re expecting something more from this mini-show, I’d suggest not getting your hopes too high.

Sonic 3 is coming out later this year, with Keanu Reeves as the voice of Shadow. That’s when we’ll see if I’m right or wrong about how important this long and not-so-funny mini-show is for the whole Sonic thing.
